Hello!! My name is Sofie Engelschiøn, I am a Norwegian multimedia artist and welcome to my little creative corner!

 

Get to know me:
In 2020, in the midst of a pandemic, I decided it was time for a change. Like many others, I realized how fragile life is, and I wanted to see as much as possible before my eyes closed forever. So, I applied to a school in Florence, Italy, and in August of that same year, I moved with my Helly Hansen xl bag to a place I had never visited before.

 

For the past 3 years, I have been studying art in arguably one of the world's most beautiful cities. Life itself has been influenced by months in isolation, but also months filled with laughter, wine, and song. In July 2023, I completed my bachelor's degree in Multimedia Art, and can finally (also on paper), call myself a visual artist.

 

Now, I'm on new adventures, trading wine and pasta for canoeing and hiking pants. In November 2023, I decided to move again, this time to Yellowknife, Canada, where I am currently based.

The world is a busy place, and it is easy to get lost in it. My artworks pauses moments of time, zooming in on everyday details that somehow seems to go unacknowledged. Moments that if not appreciated will disappear as soon as they appear. Creating different medium artworks over several platforms has allowed me to use the world as a canvas. With my work I want to offer a break from reality. A moment to breath, re-charge, and re-focus, reminding people that art can be found in every small corner of the world. 

 

 

I do everything from taking photos to creating paintings, videos, and installations. Here on my website, you'll find everything from my latest paintings to photographs.
