It's been quiet for a few months now. When the birds left, it was as if time froze. A white sheet covered the landscape, the thick ice calmed the rivers and everything became completely quiet.
 
The melting series shows the moment in April when the winter job was over. The ice could not keep the rumbling rivers still any longer.  The sound of running water was a sign, spring had arrived. Photographed in Kvitfjell, Norway
